Most of our time is spent in relentless thought, we live inside our heads.

 

Mindfulness is simply paying attention. Paying attention to your thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations.

 

Mindfulness encompasses two key ingredients: awareness and acceptance. Awareness is the knowledge and ability to focus attention on one’s inner processes and experiences.

 

There are many different types of mindful practices that stretch back thousands of years in the traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism and Zen to mention but a few.
